Texas Teenager Faces Murder Charge After Allegedly Shooting Friend Over French Fry Argument

The tragic event unfolded on January 28, 2026, when a group of friends, including the victim Jarvis Davis and his girlfriend, returned to an apartment in Fort Worth after purchasing food from a nearby Wingstop restaurant. According to police reports and witness statements, an argument erupted between Darden and Davis when Darden demanded some of Davis's French fries and Davis refused.
Police claim that during the heated exchange, Darden produced a handgun and shot Davis directly in the head. Davis was rushed to a hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office officially confirmed the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the head.
Family and Friends Stunned by Senseless Violence
Sherika Kennedy, Davis's mother, expressed profound grief and disbelief in an interview with FOX News. "It's so senseless," she stated. "Why? My baby thought he was genuinely his friend. My baby wasn't expecting him to shoot him. Everybody thought he was joking about the fries."
Kennedy further revealed that Davis's girlfriend was present during the shooting, lying on Davis's lap when she heard what sounded like breaking glass followed by a gunshot.
