A violent knife attack at a South London train station has left a young man in hospital, prompting a major police investigation.

Station Stabbing Sparks Police Investigation

Emergency services rushed to Belvedere Railway Station on Friday evening after reports of a stabbing. British Transport Police (BTP) were called to the scene at approximately 5:20pm following the alarming incident.

A 20-year-old man was treated by paramedics at the station before being transported to a local hospital. Authorities have confirmed that his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Appeal for Key Witness and Dashcam Footage

Detectives have revealed they are particularly keen to trace the driver of a silver Ford Puma that was seen passing the station at around 5:15pm. They believe this motorist may have crucial information.

Detective Inspector Ian Wright stated: "We know the station was busy at the time of the incident and many people may have seen what happened or the events leading up to it, so we are urging anyone with information to get in touch and assist us with our enquiries."

He further emphasised the importance of the driver and any potential dashcam footage, adding: "In particular, we're keen to speak to the driver of a silver Ford Puma who passed the station at approximately 17:15pm, and anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area."
