Police have launched a major manhunt after a convicted criminal serving a lengthy sentence for attempted murder absconded from an open prison in Cheshire.

Kieran Cameron, aged 43, was reported missing from HMP Thorn Cross in Warrington at 9.20pm on Tuesday evening. Cameron is currently serving a substantial 23-year prison sentence for attempted murder, a crime for which he was convicted in Dorset back in 2016.
Cheshire Police have issued a detailed description of the wanted man. He is described as white, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, and of medium build. He has heavily receding hair and sports a distinctive ginger and grey beard.
