A man in his 50s has died on a street in Hammersmith, West London, after police and paramedics were called to a welfare concern. The incident occurred on Gwendwr Road, where average house prices reach £552,400, at around 5.40am on Monday, July 6.
Emergency response and pronouncement of death
Officers from the Metropolitan Police and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service (LAS) arrived at the scene following reports of concern for a man’s welfare. Upon arrival, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. A white police tent was erected in the street, and medical equipment was visible on the ground.
Police statement: death unexpected but not suspicious
A Met Police spokesperson said: “At 5.43am on Monday, July 6, police were called to Gwendwr Road, Hammersmith following concerns for the welfare of a man. Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service but sadly, a man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. His next of kin have been informed. The death is being treated as unexpected and not deemed to be suspicious.”
The London Ambulance Service was contacted for further comment but did not provide additional details at the time of reporting.
