London teen charged with nine Leicestershire robberies

A 19-year-old from North London has been charged with a series of serious offences, including nine counts of robbery and one of intentional suffocation, following police investigations in Leicestershire.

Court Hearing and Custody

Richile Vangu, of Bowes Road in Southgate, appeared before Leicester Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, November 29. The court ordered that he be remanded into custody. A second 19-year-old arrested as part of the same investigation has been released on police bail.

Details of the Alleged Offences

The charges relate to two separate incidents under investigation by Leicestershire Police. Vangu faces five counts of robbery connected to an event in the Harborough district of Leicestershire on November 21.

He is also charged with a further four counts of robbery alleged to have occurred on Bath Lane in Leicester on November 22. In addition to the robbery charges, he faces one count of intentional suffocation.

Ongoing Police Investigation

Leicestershire Police have confirmed that their investigation into the matters is continuing. The force initially looked into two allegations of robbery before making the arrests and bringing the current charges.

The case highlights serious criminal allegations spanning from North London to the East Midlands, with the accused now awaiting further legal proceedings while in custody.
