Police are hunting for suspects after a violent triple stabbing on a major London road left one man fighting for his life and another with life-changing injuries. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning, sending shockwaves through the local area.
Chaos in the Early Hours
The Metropolitan Police were called to Edgware Road at approximately 12.50am on Sunday, January 4, 2026, following reports of multiple stabbings. Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service to find three men with stab wounds.
All three victims were treated at the scene before being rushed to hospital. The most seriously injured is a man in his 20s, who remains in a life-threatening condition. A second victim, a man in his 30s, sustained injuries described by police as life-changing. A third man, also in his 20s, was treated for what are believed to be minor injuries.
Scene of Violence Revealed
Photographs from the Edgware Road scene, taken in the aftermath, illustrate the severity of the attack and the urgent medical response required. One image shows the pavement littered with a fluff-like material, understood to be the remnants of a jacket that emergency medics were forced to cut from a victim to administer first aid.
Other photos depict a police cordon that was in place for much of Sunday as forensic teams gathered evidence. The cordon has since been removed and the road has reopened to traffic as of Monday, January 5.
Urgent Police Appeal for Witnesses
As of the latest update, no arrests have been made. A Met Police spokesperson confirmed that officers are conducting urgent enquiries to identify and locate those responsible for the attack.
The police have issued a direct appeal to the public for information. They are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any information that could assist the investigation, to come forward immediately.
Witnesses can call the police non-emergency number 101, quoting the crime reference number 293/04JAN. Alternatively, information can be provided completely anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
This serious incident adds to ongoing concerns about knife crime in the capital. The Metropolitan Police continue their investigation, with the condition of the youngest victim causing particular alarm.
