DWP Announces Early Payment Schedule for Easter Bank Holidays
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has issued a crucial announcement regarding payment dates for State Pension and various benefits ahead of the upcoming Easter bank holidays. With Easter Sunday falling on 5 April this year, payments originally scheduled for Good Friday (3 April) or bank holiday Monday (6 April) will be processed and delivered early on Thursday 2 April.
Impact on DWP and HMRC Payments
HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has also confirmed that payments due on Friday 3 April or Monday 6 April will be issued early. It is essential for claimants to understand that if their payment date does not coincide with either of the Easter bank holidays, it will be processed as per the usual schedule without any changes.
The DWP has further clarified that Jobcentre Plus offices and telephone support lines will be closed on Friday 3 April and Monday 6 April. These services will resume normal operations on Tuesday 7 April, following the holiday weekend.

- Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
- State Pension
- Universal Credit
