Reform MP Danny Kruger Criticizes UK's 'Unregulated Sexual Economy' and Pushes for Pro-Family Reforms

In a recent interview with the House magazine, Danny Kruger, the Reform MP who recently defected from the Conservatives, has voiced strong concerns about the United Kingdom's current social landscape. He described the nation as suffering from a 'totally unregulated sexual economy' and emphasized the need for political intervention to foster a more pro-social framework for family formation.

Pronatalist Ambitions and Policy Proposals

Kruger revealed that Reform UK holds a 'pronatalist ambition,' aiming to encourage higher birthrates through targeted policies. One key proposal involves exploring changes to the tax system to shift from individual to household-based tax returns. This adjustment, he argued, could make it easier for couples to settle down and have children, aligning with what he believes is a widespread desire among the population.

He stated, 'If you want – most people do want – to settle down with one person to have children, we should make that easier.' Kruger clarified that while he respects personal privacy, he is focused on creating a supportive environment for family decisions, rather than intruding into individual lives.

Views on Divorce and Sexual Culture

When questioned about the role of political parties in reshaping sexual culture, Kruger acknowledged it would be 'limited but important.' He expressed personal support for reversing no-fault divorce laws, introduced in 2022, which allow couples to divorce without citing reasons like adultery or unreasonable behavior. Kruger lamented that these changes undermine the significance of marital vows, though he noted that repealing them is not currently party policy.

He explained, 'Marriage traditionally was the means by which sexual relations between men and women were regulated, and I think we are suffering from having a totally unregulated sexual economy.' However, he admitted uncertainty about the feasibility of reversing such reforms, indicating a pragmatic approach within Reform UK's strategy.

Addressing Declining Birthrates and National Unity

Kruger expressed deep worry over the UK's declining birthrate, urging government action to support women in having more children. He emphasized that Reform UK seeks to back this societal wish through proactive measures. Additionally, he defended the party against claims of divisiveness, arguing that Reform represents a path to national unity.

He warned, 'The only chance of unity for our country is Reform. If we don't win, or if we win and then make a mess of it, I do fear for our country.' Kruger highlighted the party's slogan – 'family, community, country' – as a shift away from liberal individualism towards collective belonging and security.

Overall, Kruger's comments underscore Reform UK's focus on family-oriented policies as a cornerstone for addressing demographic challenges and fostering social cohesion in the UK.
