In a shocking development, singer D4vd has been officially designated as the prime "target" in a Los Angeles County grand jury investigation concerning the murder of a teenage girl. The 14-year-old victim was discovered in the trunk of an impounded vehicle registered to the musician, sending ripples through both the entertainment and legal communities.
Grim Discovery in Impound Lot
Back in September, Los Angeles police officers responded to reports of a foul odor emanating from a vehicle at a local impound facility. Upon inspection, they made a horrifying find: human remains inside a 2023 Tesla Model Y that belongs to D4vd. The car was promptly secured, and a comprehensive investigation was launched immediately.
Court Documents Reveal Details
Recently unsealed court filings have identified 20-year-old D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, as the "Target" of this inquiry. These documents, which became public following an appeal by the singer's family in Texas, mark the first instance where investigators have explicitly named him as a suspect in the case.
The subpoenas state that the "Target may be involved in having committed the following criminal offenses against the laws of the State of California, to wit: One count of Murder." Additionally, the documents seek compulsory testimony from D4vd's mother, father, and brother, noting they "may not refuse" to cooperate.
Victim Identified as Celeste Rivas
Forensic experts initially determined the victim was a girl between 14 and 15 years old. A day after the discovery, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner officially identified the body as 15-year-old Celeste Rivas. She had been reported missing in 2024 from her hometown of Lake Elsinore, located approximately 70 miles away from Los Angeles. At the time of her disappearance, she was just 13 years old.
Gruesome Findings in the Vehicle
According to the subpoena, police investigators searched the Tesla and found a cadaver bag "covered with insects and a strong odor of decay." Detectives partially unzipped the bag and observed a decomposed head and torso. The Medical Examiner's Office detailed that upon removing the bag from the front storage compartment, it was discovered the arms and legs had been severed from the body. A second black bag underneath contained the dismembered body parts.
Before her identification, the teenager was described as having wavy black hair, standing 5 feet 2 inches tall, and weighing 120 pounds. She was found wearing a tube top, black leggings, a yellow metal bracelet, and metal stud earrings. Notably, she had a tattoo on her right index finger that read: "Shhh...".
Family and Investigation Updates
The victim's mother revealed to TMZ that her daughter had a boyfriend named Dave prior to her disappearance. Meanwhile, D4vd has not publicly commented on the case, but his representatives have previously stated that he is fully cooperating with the police investigation. At the time of the initial discovery, authorities noted that the singer had not been arrested and was assisting with the probe.
This case continues to unfold as the grand jury investigation progresses, with legal experts closely monitoring the developments. The involvement of a rising music star in such a grave matter has captivated public attention, highlighting the intersection of celebrity and criminal justice.
