A 25-year-old man from North West London has been charged with murder following a fatal incident at a Turkish restaurant in Hertfordshire. The victim, a man in his 30s, succumbed to his injuries in hospital days after the alleged attack.

Charges Laid After Fatal Restaurant Altercation

Dequarn Williams, aged 25 and from Cricklewood in the London Borough of Brent, is now in police custody. The charge stems from a violent incident reported at the Vu Lounge Turkish restaurant in Bushey on Saturday, November 29.

Hertfordshire Police were called to the scene at approximately 11:30pm that evening. Upon arrival, they discovered a man who had sustained critical injuries. He was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment.

Victim Succumbs to Injuries

The investigation turned into a murder enquiry on Thursday, December 4, when police announced the victim had died from his wounds. Authorities have not yet publicly released his name or image.

Following the victim's death, Williams was formally charged with murder. He has been remanded into custody as legal proceedings begin.

Police Appeal for Information

Leading the investigation, Detective Inspector Lee Martin of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, expressed his condolences. “My thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this tragic time,” he stated.

DI Martin acknowledged the concern such an event generates locally but sought to reassure the public. “We believe this is an isolated incident and there is no risk to the wider public,” he confirmed.

He emphasised the pace of the investigation and issued a direct appeal: “If you have any information that could assist our enquiries and have not already spoken to police please get in touch.”
