Corrections and clarifications: Quick crossword, Buckingham Palace, TLC shows
Corrections and clarifications: crossword, palace, TV

The Guardian has issued corrections for several articles published on 4 July and 27 June. In the quick cryptic crossword No 118, the first word in the clue for 4 down, which read "Stoke is strangely apt (3)," should have been "stroke" (4 July, p54).

Buckingham Palace history corrected

An article titled "No place like home" (27 June, p13) incorrectly stated that Queen Victoria and Prince Albert were dismayed by the state of Buckingham Palace when they moved into it in 1837. In fact, Queen Victoria moved into the palace after her ascension in 1837 and was not married until 1840.

TLC shows misattributed

The TV shows Unacceptable and Suddenly Amish, both featured as picks of the day (4 July, What's On, p4), are on the TLC channel, not Discovery Home & Leisure as previously stated. This error was in print only.
