Birmingham's £1m Lottery Winner Has Just One Month to Claim Prize
Birmingham's £1m Lottery prize expires in one month

A life-changing fortune is waiting to be collected by an unsuspecting resident of Birmingham, but time is rapidly running out.

The Clock is Ticking on a Million-Pound Prize

National Lottery operator Allwyn has issued an urgent appeal to find the holder of a winning UK Millionaire Maker ticket from the EuroMillions draw on August 15, 2025. The ticket, worth a staggering £1,000,000, was purchased in the Birmingham area. The winner has until February 11, 2026 to come forward and claim their money, or the prize and the chance to transform their life will be lost forever.

This is not an isolated case. Lottery bosses have revealed that three other £1,000,000 prizes remain unclaimed across the UK, though those winners have slightly more breathing room.

Other Major Prizes Awaiting Discovery

The hunt is on for several other mystery millionaires. A EuroMillions ticket bought in Broxbourne, which won on October 31, 2025, must be claimed by April 29, 2026. A Lotto ticket purchased in South Gloucestershire, which won £1 million on November 1, 2025, has a deadline of April 30, 2026. The most recent unclaimed jackpot is a EuroMillions ticket from Bournemouth, won on November 4, 2025, with a final claim date of May 3, 2026.

There are also smaller, yet still transformative, sums awaiting collection. One player from Powys, Wales, won £112,091.00 in a draw on December 12, 2025, by matching five balls and a Lucky Star with the numbers 7, 25, 30, 37, 41 and stars 5 and 11. They have until June 10, 2026, to claim.

How to Claim If You Think You've Won

Kathy Garrett, a winners’ advisor for Allwyn, has urged players to conduct a thorough search for their tickets. “Rummage through your warm coats and double-check that this winning ticket hasn’t inadvertently been stowed away with your hats, scarves and gloves,” she advised. She also recommended checking vehicles, recalling a builder who claimed a £50,000,000 ticket days before expiry after finding it in his work van's sun visor.

The process for claiming is straightforward. Once you have found and verified your ticket, you should call the number on the back. A winner’s advisor will then contact you and arrange an in-person visit, typically the next day, to guide you through the process.

If prizes go unclaimed, the money, along with all the interest it has generated, is transferred to support National Lottery Projects across the UK, funding thousands of good causes in arts, sports, heritage, and community projects.
