A prisoner serving a 23-year sentence for attempted murder is unlawfully at large after absconding from an open prison in Cheshire.

Kieran Cameron, aged 43, was reported missing from HMP Thorn Cross in Warrington at 8.20pm on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. The inmate is described as white, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a medium build. He has heavily receding hair and a ginger and grey beard.
Cheshire Police have stated that Cameron is known to have extensive links to several areas, including Manchester, Liverpool, and Dorset. He is currently serving his lengthy sentence for an attempted murder committed in Dorset back in 2016.

Detective Chief Inspector Nick Henderson, of the Serious and Organised Crime Unit at Cheshire Police, has issued a direct appeal for information. "We are appealing for the help of the public to trace Kieran Cameron, who is unlawfully at large after leaving HMP Thorn Cross in Warrington," he said.
The police have issued a clear warning to anyone who may spot him: "If you see him, do not approach him, call 999 immediately."
