The attacker, identified as 20-year-old Aaron Nomicas, launched the violent kick without any provocation while the vulnerable woman was simply trying to protect herself and her canine companion from the cold. According to police reports, Nomicas had to be physically restrained by horrified bystanders after he attempted to deliver further blows following the initial attack.
The victim reportedly called Nomicas a 'coward' during the confrontation, a sentiment that was later echoed by investigating officers who reviewed the disturbing CCTV evidence. Sergeant Joshua Bliss from Wiltshire Police emphasized the impact of the case, stating: 'This was a highly impactful case – the victim is incredibly vulnerable and had no way of protecting herself, or escaping from, this vicious and unprovoked attack.'
Nomicas pleaded guilty to Actual Bodily Harm (ABH) at Salisbury Magistrates' Court and was subsequently sentenced to six months in prison. Sergeant Bliss added: 'This court result should send a clear message – if you are someone who preys on the most vulnerable and defenceless members of our community, we will swiftly track you down and we will bring you to justice.'
