Two teenage girls have reported being raped on a popular seafront in Great Yarmouth, prompting a police manhunt for a second suspect. Officers have made one arrest in connection with the alleged sexual assault but are actively searching for another man believed to be in his 30s or 40s.

Incident Details

Police were called to South Beach Parade at 12:37 am on Saturday following reports of two rapes. A man in his thirties was arrested in Northamptonshire on Sunday on suspicion of rape and taken to King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre for questioning, where he remains in custody.

Second Suspect Description

Authorities are searching for a second suspect described as a white man with short dark hair, dark facial hair, and aged between 30 and 40. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a dark green jacket with a white stripe on both sleeves.

Police Response

Chief Inspector Nick Paling, district commander for Great Yarmouth, stated: “We recognise how shocking and distressing these incidents are for the victims, their families, and the wider community. Specialist officers have been deployed to support both girls as we work through this investigation. There will be an increased police presence in the area, with officers carrying out reassurance patrols. Please do approach them if you have any concerns or information.”
