Secret Service Agent Arrested for Indecency in Miami

A US Secret Service officer has been placed on administrative leave following his arrest for allegedly exposing and fondling himself in a public area of a Miami hotel. John Andrew Spillman, 33, was taken into custody on Sunday after being found naked on the sixth floor of the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel Miami airport & convention center, according to a sworn law enforcement statement.

The Secret Service is best known for its role in protecting the US president. Earlier that day, Spillman had been part of an external screening security detail at the 2025 PGA Cadillac Championship, which Donald Trump attended. Miami-Dade County sheriff’s deputies reported that Spillman was “masturbating at the end of the hallway” when they arrived. A woman who emerged from a nearby room after the arrest told police that Spillman had followed her from the hotel lobby to the sixth floor. She stated that she and other guests “immediately entered their room because she was in fear of their lives” and that she saw Spillman “masturbating next to [the] hotel room.” Hotel security also reported witnessing similar behavior on the floor.

Richard Macauley, Secret Service uniformed division chief, acknowledged the arrest and condemned the alleged conduct, stating it “is unacceptable and stands in stark contrast to the professionalism and integrity that I demand of our personnel.” Macauley added that the agency takes such matters seriously and that Spillman has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the criminal case and an internal investigation. Spillman was held on $1,000 bail at the Turner Guilford Knight correctional center but posted bond and was expected to be released by Tuesday, according to local news outlet WSVN.

This incident comes just over a week after Secret Service officers arrested 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen for allegedly shooting an agent while attempting to storm the White House correspondents’ dinner in Washington DC, where Trump was present.
