Three Married at First Sight UK stars have made sexual misconduct allegations against their former on-screen husbands, according to a bombshell BBC Panorama documentary. The popular Channel 4 series, which pairs complete strangers in mock weddings, faces serious scrutiny over its welfare procedures.
Allegations in New Documentary
In the Panorama program, journalist Noor Nanji speaks to three women who allege sexual misconduct by their on-screen partners. Two of the women claim they were sexually assaulted. The men deny all allegations, while Channel 4 and production company CPL insist their welfare protocols are robust and comprehensive.
How the Show Works
The reality series, based on a Danish format, matches singles through scientific and psychological tests conducted by relationship experts. Couples meet at the altar, marry, and then go on a honeymoon. They later move in together, attend dinner parties, and participate in weekly commitment ceremonies where they decide whether to stay or leave the experiment.
At the end of the process, each pair must choose to remain married or separate. Metro has contacted Channel 4 for comment.
