A 23-year-old London man has appeared in court after being extradited from France in connection with a murder in Norwich. Jahziah Harrison, of Northampton Park, appeared at Norwich Magistrates Court charged with the murder of Oliver Payne, 38, in Paragon Place, Norwich, on August 2, 2024.
Details of the incident
Officers were called to reports of a stabbing on Friday, August 2, 2024. Despite receiving medical assistance, Oliver Payne was pronounced dead at the scene. Harrison was arrested by French authorities on July 6, 2025, and the legal process for his return to the UK began on Monday, July 20.
Additional charges
Harrison faces multiple charges including manslaughter, possession of a bladed article, two counts of drug supply offences, and perverting the course of justice. He was further charged with a second count of possession of a bladed article, two counts of grievous bodily harm, and two additional drug supply offences related to another incident.
Court appearance and remand
He was remanded in custody and is next due to appear at Norwich Crown Court on Wednesday, July 22. Three further arrests were made in Islington, London, on Friday, July 17, in connection with the incident. Two women in their 20s and a woman in her 60s were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. They were taken to Wood Green Police Investigation Centre for questioning and have since been released under investigation.
