Katie Price has publicly defended her husband Lee Andrews, insisting that his alleged comments about selling a sex tape were made as a joke and that no such tape exists. The former glamour model addressed the controversy during an appearance on Andrew Gold's Heretics podcast, where she dismissed the reports that Andrews, 42, had tried to sell a private recording for £250,000.
Last month, The Sun published an alleged voice note in which Andrews reportedly said he needed to 'get cash quickly' and suggested releasing a sex tape with his wife for a 'pretty penny'. Price, however, clarified that the recording was taken out of context. 'He said it as a joke, in a voice note to someone, and I sent it to my sister because the email came through to us. I said: "Look Soph, he's said it as a joke." I said: "I haven't even done a sex tape and then it's come out,"' she told the podcast host.
Andrews' Troubled Past in Dubai
The defence comes amid a series of allegations against Andrews since his marriage to Price in February 2026. The Dubai-based businessman has faced accusations of fraud, imprisonment, and scamming women. Reports indicate that Andrews spent four weeks in Dubai's Al Awir prison over outstanding debts before being released, and was arrested again on July 11 after allegedly attempting to raise around £120,000 he believed he owed.
According to The Sun, Andrews sent a message to a friend saying: 'They've arrested me. Katie might need to bail me out. We need to make a noise with a Go Fund Me.' However, a spokesperson for Lahbab Police Station told the newspaper they had no record of Andrews being there, and Price's representative declined to comment at the time.
Fraud Allegations and Business Claims
Andrews has also been accused of misleading claims about his business empire. When Price introduced him as her partner, he presented himself as the CEO of Aura Group Future Urban Travel 2027 and an investor in 'SpaceX Hybrid Fitness'. His social media, which boasted more than 100,000 followers, was filled with photos of luxury cars and lavish Dubai lifestyles, but several celebrity photos were later alleged to have been created using AI.
Additionally, Andrews allegedly served time in Al Awir prison for suspected fraud, reportedly taking out a £200,000 mortgage in his ex-girlfriend's name without her knowledge. The UAE bans people facing criminal investigations from leaving the country, though Andrews denied he was unable to return to the UK, claiming there must be 'wrong details'. Price later confirmed he was subjected to a ban but didn't clarify why.
Scamming Women and Faking Kidnapping
Days after the couple tied the knot, two of Andrews' exes accused him of being a 'liar, narcissist and manipulator'. Months later, it was reported that he had been begging women for money weeks before marrying Price. His ex Alana shared a post on Instagram calling him the 'Tinder Swindler' and claimed multiple women had contacted her saying he'd tried to scam them too. She later went on a podcast to share more details, claiming 'I genuinely thought that potentially he could have killed me.'
After Andrews failed to return to the UK, Price reported him as a missing person, and he was later found to be in prison in Dubai. Following his release, he returned to social media with an extraordinary account of events, claiming he had been 'kidnapped at gunpoint', 'slapped around', and falsely accused of espionage. Dubai authorities disputed these claims, describing the matter as a private civil dispute.
Current Status and Price's Comments
In July, it was reported that Andrews had been released following his second stint in Al Awir prison. However, after not posting anything on his Instagram Stories since July 9, questions remain about his whereabouts. During the podcast, which Metro confirmed was recorded on July 27, Price revealed that Andrews was still in prison. 'I think he comes out today,' she stated.
Price has also faced criticism from her sister Sophie, who called Andrews' alleged comments 'out of order' and used strong language to describe him. Price, however, has maintained a cautious stance, saying 'I'm just not commenting anymore' on her show, while adding that the media 'love clickbait' but acknowledging 'you can't have smoke without fire'.
