Epstein Sought Sarah Ferguson's Public Support to Counter Paedophile Allegations

Newly released documents from the US Department of Justice have unveiled a disturbing PR plot by convicted sexual offender Jeffrey Epstein, who allegedly pressured Sarah Ferguson to publicly deny he was a paedophile. The emails, part of a batch of over three million files released on Friday, show Epstein's attempts to manipulate the former royal into issuing a statement clearing his name.

Epstein's Direct Requests for a Public Apology

In an email dated March 2011, Epstein wrote to publisher Mike Sitrick, outlining his desire for a statement from Ferguson. He claimed she had been "duped" into believing false stories by civil plaintiffs' attorneys from Florida, whom he accused of misrepresenting themselves as law enforcement. Epstein suggested Ferguson should say, "I am not a pedo", and expose newspapers for offering money for stories. Sitrick responded by advising that the Duchess should apologise, stating she was "mistaken" and "feels terrible", and threatened legal action if she refused.

Ferguson's Past Friendship and Regret

The documents also reveal warm exchanges between Ferguson and Epstein, all dated after his 2008 conviction for prostituting minors. In 2009, Ferguson thanked Epstein for being the "brother I have always wished for" and expressed being deeply touched by his kindness. She shared details about her "Sarah Ferguson brand" and mentioned interest from figures like Tommy Hilfiger. However, Ferguson has since called the friendship a "gigantic error of judgment", stating in a 2011 interview that she abhors paedophilia and regrets Epstein's involvement in her life.

Broader Context and Royal Connections

The files shed further light on Epstein's ties to the royal family, including an invitation to Prince Andrew's 50th birthday party in 2010, which Epstein declined. Disturbing images in the release appear to show Andrew in compromising positions, though he has always denied wrongdoing. Andrew was stripped of his royal titles last year and is due to relocate from Royal Lodge. The documents underscore the extensive network of powerful figures Epstein associated with, highlighting ongoing legal and public scrutiny.

These revelations add to the growing body of evidence about Epstein's manipulative tactics and his efforts to rehabilitate his image through high-profile connections, while Ferguson maintains her stance of regret and condemnation of his actions.
