Epstein Email Alleges 'Consensual Sex' Between Andrew Windsor and Virginia Giuffre
A newly disclosed email from Jeffrey Epstein has ignited fresh controversy in the long-running scandal involving Andrew Windsor, the former Prince Andrew, and his accuser Virginia Giuffre. The correspondence, exchanged with New York Times reporter Landon Thomas Jr., shows Epstein appearing not to correct the journalist's assertion that Andrew had 'consensual sex' with Giuffre, referred to by her maiden name Virginia Roberts (VR).
In the email, Thomas stated, 'I think the big issue is separating yourself from Andrew. I mean, in the end, he had consensual sex with VR. And VR worked for you. The rest is atmospherics. You have moved on! People don't know that and can't accept that unless you say as much.' This communication occurred weeks after Giuffre filed a legal claim alleging she was trafficked to Andrew for sex at least three times in 2001.
Giuffre's Allegations and Andrew's Denials
Virginia Giuffre, who passed away recently, had been a vocal accuser of Andrew Windsor, Jeffrey Epstein, and Ghislaine Maxwell. She consistently claimed that Andrew, then the Duke of York, engaged in sexual activities with her when she was 17 years old on Epstein's private island. In a posthumous memoir, she detailed an alleged orgy involving Andrew and eight other girls, further fueling the scandal.
Andrew Windsor has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing, though he settled out of court with Giuffre for an undisclosed sum. His representatives have been contacted for comment on the latest email revelation, but no response has been issued yet.
Background and Broader Context
The email adds to a complex web of allegations and legal battles. In a previously unseen BBC Panorama interview clip aired after her death, Giuffre described how Ghislaine Maxwell, now serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking, introduced her to Andrew. She recounted, 'Ghislaine tells me that I have to do for Andrew what I do for Jeffrey, and that made me sick. I just didn't expect it from royalty. I didn't expect from someone who people look up to and admire in the royal family.'
Giuffre also accused Maxwell of being 'more physically abusive in some aspects than Jeffrey Epstein even was,' alleging she took pleasure in others' discomfort. Andrew Windsor relinquished his royal titles as the Epstein scandal escalated, linking him to the disgraced financier.
This development follows other recent reports, such as claims that Epstein files mentioning Andrew were secretly redacted after release and that Epstein became fixated with a British TV star post-prison. The ongoing scrutiny highlights the lasting impact of the Epstein case on public figures and institutions.
