Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill) lost his cool in Emmerdale today and threatened Ross Barton (Michael Parr) with a cake slicer after discovering Ross framed him for robbing the cafe. The former criminal returned to the village to bond with his son Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches), but Ross and Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) have been determined to drive him away.
Ross and Nicola frame Kev for cafe robbery
When Lewis and Nicola discovered the cafe had been robbed, they assumed Kev was responsible. They confronted Kev at the Anderson household, where he was baking pancakes. Lewis noticed Kev's bakery van was unlocked and found the cafe's cash box inside. Kev had been framed, and it turned out Ross was the culprit, with Nicola as his accomplice. Ross created an alibi by spending the evening with Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker), but he made the mistake of telling Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) about the plot.
Mackenzie reveals the truth to Kev
Mackenzie, still reeling from learning Ross is the father of Charity's baby, told Kev about the framing. Kev quickly deduced that Ross is the man Charity slept with. Enraged, Kev confronted Ross at Dale View, holding a cake slicer. He demanded Ross tell Lewis the truth about the robbery setup. When Ross refused, Kev placed the slicer down and rugby-tackled Ross to the ground.
Lewis catches Kev and orders him to leave
Lewis arrived to find Kev pinning Ross down and was devastated. He ordered Kev to leave, believing Kev had robbed the cafe. Kev's relationship with his son seemed over. Later, in the pub toilets, Kev approached Ross and warned him that he knows his secrets and that many villagers hate him. Kev claimed it wouldn't be long before they come for Ross, leaving Ross visibly worried.
