A man has been killed after his van plunged off a cliff edge at a beauty spot in Sussex. His body was found in the vehicle on the beach at Friar's Bay in Peacehaven on Wednesday afternoon.

Sussex Police received a report of a van going over the cliff edge at Peacehaven at about 4:30pm on Wednesday, 1 July. The van was located and the driver, a man who is yet to be formally identified, was sadly found deceased.

Police are investigating the full circumstances of this tragic incident and the coroner's officer has been informed. Lewes District Council said in a statement: 'Sussex Police are responding to an incident involving a vehicle at Friars Bay, Peacehaven. LDC officers are on site supporting.
