Corrections: Welsh Water ownership, NatureScot name, and other amendments
Corrections: Welsh Water, NatureScot, and other amendments

Welsh Water (Dŵr Cymru) is a private company operating under a not-for-profit model with no shareholders since 2001, contrary to an earlier description of “public ownership”. NatureScot was incorrectly referred to as “Nature Scotland”. These corrections were published in the Guardian.

Details of Corrections

An article titled “Complex and costly” (1 July, p35) described Welsh Water as being under “public ownership”. The utility is actually a private company, but as the article later explained, it has operated under a not-for-profit model since 2001, with no shareholders.

In a separate article, “Landmark AI project has no prospect of meeting renewable energy promise” (6 July, p16), NatureScot was misnamed as “Nature Scotland”. The correct name is NatureScot.
