Detectives investigating the fatal shooting of a man in North West London have released the name and image of a suspect they are seeking, six months after the incident. A reward of up to £10,000 is being offered for information leading to his arrest.
Victim identified
Simon Whyte, 55, was shot dead on Harrow Road, at the junction with West End Close, in the Stonebridge area of Brent on Friday, December 19, 2025. Officers are now looking to speak to 41-year-old Pierre Thompson, from West London, as part of their enquiries.
Police appeal
Detective Inspector Jim Barry, who is leading the investigation, said: “Today marks six months since Simon’s death and his family and friends are continuing to come to terms with their loss. They are desperate for answers as to what happened that evening and we have already carried out extensive enquiries to build up a picture of the events of that night.”
Family's plea
Simon’s wife Simone said: “Simon was my husband of 25 years, my best friend, and my soulmate. I am completely lost and distraught without him. He was deeply loved by our family, and his loss has left a hole in our lives that can never be filled.
“Simon was murdered on December 19, 2025 at approximately 9.35pm. Since that day, our family has been living with unimaginable grief, heartache and anxiety that his killer hasn’t been found. Every day, we are reminded of the life that was taken from us and the questions that remain unanswered.
“It has now been six months since Simon's passing, and we, as a family, deserve answers, closure, and justice for Simon. No family should have to endure the pain of losing a loved one without knowing the full truth of what happened.”
Crimestoppers reward
DI Barry added: “We are now appealing to the public to help us progress our investigation and would urge anyone who knows the whereabouts of Pierre Thompson to contact police or independent charity Crimestoppers immediately.”
Crimestoppers are also offering an appeal of up to £10,000 for information that leads to the arrest of Pierre Thompson.
Alexa Loukas, London Regional Manager at Crimestoppers, said: “Six months on from Simon Whyte’s tragic death, his family are still waiting for answers and justice. We are urging anyone who has information about Pierre Thompson’s whereabouts to come forward and do the right thing.
“Crimestoppers is completely independent of the police, and you can contact us 100 per cent anonymously. If you know something, however small it may seem, please speak up – your information could make a critical difference in helping bring those responsible to justice.”
