An 18-year-old man has been stabbed in a daylight attack in the centre of Sutton, with his attacker still at large, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed.
Incident Details
The victim was knifed outside a gym on Sutton High Street shortly before 6.30pm yesterday (Sunday, May 10). Paramedics treated him at the scene before rushing him to a major trauma centre. His injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing, the Metropolitan Police confirmed in a statement this morning.
Investigation Ongoing
No arrests have been made at this stage and officers continue to carry out enquiries, the force added. Witnesses are urged to come forward to help in the ongoing investigation.
Crime Scene and Response
Police erected a cordon on Sutton High Street between the junctions of Crown Road and Burnell Road whilst the area was secured. This has since been removed.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson added: "We were called at 6.29pm on Sunday, May 10 to reports of a stabbing in the High Street, Sutton. We sent resources including ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic practitioner, an incident response officer and London’s air ambulance. We treated a man at the scene before taking him to a London major trauma centre."
