Russian Drone Strikes Injure 10 in Odesa, Ukraine

Another night of Russian drone attacks on Ukraine overnight left more than 10 people injured, with significant damage to residential buildings in the Odesa region. The strikes caused the most destruction in the central Prymorskyi district, where residential buildings, a hotel, and other facilities in the city center were damaged, according to Serhiy Lysak, head of the local military administration, who reported via Telegram as cited by Reuters.

Extremely Difficult Night

“It was an extremely difficult night,” Lysak stated, adding that high-rise residential buildings, private homes, and vehicles also came under attack in two other districts of the region. Emergency services responded to multiple locations, and rescue operations continued into the morning.

Ukrainian PM to Visit Poland

Ukrainian Prime Minister Julia Svyrydenko is expected to visit Poland today to participate in a conference on the “security and defence dimension” of Ukraine’s recovery. During her visit, she will meet with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. The meeting is anticipated to focus on continued support for Ukraine, including military aid and reconstruction efforts.

Other European Diplomatic Moves

Elsewhere in Europe, French President Emmanuel Macron is set to visit Andorra, where he serves as co-prince. Germany’s Friedrich Merz is expected to speak to pupils about Europe, while EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is in Berlin for a politically sensitive meeting with her former party, the CDU/CSU.
