North London Raid Uncovers Arsenal of Counterfeit Weapons and Injured Dogs
A significant police operation in north London has led to the arrest and charging of a 51-year-old Enfield man after officers discovered a cache of counterfeit firearms, ammunition, drugs, and eight prohibited dogs with injuries consistent with dog fighting. Corey Ledgister of Farndale Avenue, Enfield, was taken into custody on Thursday, April 9, following a raid by the Metropolitan Police.
Extensive Arsenal and Disturbing Animal Findings
During the search of the property, police uncovered a substantial arsenal of illegal items. This included 13 counterfeit Glock-style firearms, each equipped with an extended magazine, and a total of 640 rounds of ammunition. In addition to the weapons, officers found cannabis and eight dogs of prohibited breeds.
The animals exhibited injuries that authorities believe are consistent with breeding for and participation in dog fighting. All eight dogs were safely removed from the premises and taken into protective care.
Multiple Serious Charges Filed
Ledgister now faces a lengthy list of charges as a result of the discovery. These include:
- 13 counts of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life
- Possession of ammunition with intent to endanger life
- Possession of an offensive weapon in a public place
- Possession of an offensive weapon in a private place
- Possession of a Class B drug (cannabis)
- Animal cruelty offences related to the condition of the dogs
The suspect has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Stratford Magistrates Court on Saturday, April 11, for his initial hearing.

Acting Detective Chief Inspector Damian Hill, from the Metropolitan Police's Specialist Crime Command, commented on the operation's success. "Tackling violence and the threat of counterfeit firearms is a priority we take incredibly seriously," he stated. "I am pleased that our targeted operation has resulted in these dangerous weapons being taken off our streets, thereby enhancing public safety in the community."
