An 11-year-old boy is in a serious condition in hospital after being shot in the face and neck at a home in Norwest, in Sydney’s north-west. Emergency services were called to the property at about 5pm on Monday following reports of a shooting.
Incident details
Police said the boy sustained gunshot wounds to his face and neck. Paramedics treated him at the scene before transporting him to hospital. Five other people who were inside the home at the time of the shooting were unharmed, according to police.
Investigation underway
Initial reports indicate the shots were fired from within the home, and police are not currently searching for an external suspect. A crime scene has been established as investigations into the circumstances of the shooting continue.
