The survey, focused on singles aged 18 to 25, also revealed that mentions of 'bald men' in UK Tinder bios grew by 13% between January and June 2026, according to exclusive data shared with Metro.

Last week, over 22,000 fans descended on BST Hyde Park to set a new Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people wearing bald caps, paying tribute to Pitbull. The army of 'baldies' danced to hits like Fireball and Hotel Room Service, all dressed like the iconic American rapper. One in 10 respondents said they would actively encourage a partner to shave it all off.
Confidence is key
According to the survey, more than half (55%) of singles said they find men who embrace their baldness more confident and attractive than those who try to hide it. This sentiment is echoed on social media. The r/bald subreddit, founded 15 years ago by moderator geekbro27 as a 'therapeutic way' to accept his own hair loss, now has over 1.2 million weekly visitors. The community operates on a no-bald-bashing policy and offers support for those considering shaving their heads. One member, @Accomplished-Brief76, shared his transformation with the caption: 'Finally joined the bald squad. Got told I looked like I had a comb over and knew it was time.' Comments on such posts include 'The hair was doing you a disservice!' and 'You look so much happier!'
The Pitbull Effect on dating
The trend appears to be reshaping dating preferences. While some TikTok users still post videos captioned 'he'd be so much hotter with hair,' the overall shift is toward embracing baldness.
