Michael Phillips, a North Carolina man who claims to have the world's smallest penis, has launched a fundraising campaign for enlargement surgery. Speaking on the This Morning TV show in London on 7 January 2026, Phillips said the procedure is needed to improve his ability to urinate, as his penis measures 0.38 inches (0.97 cm) when fully erect. Without surgery, he must continue to wear adult incontinence diapers daily.
Fundraiser for Dignity and Independence
In a GoFundMe campaign titled "Help Michael Get Micropenis Enlargement Procedure," Phillips wrote: "This has been a source of daily frustration and embarrassment especially when traveling which I like to do, and it has affected my confidence and independence." He stated that he has saved as much money as possible for the surgery and injections to increase girth, but is appealing to others for help with the remaining balance. The procedure, he noted, would not cure his micropenis but could mean "living with more dignity and independence." As of Friday morning, the campaign had raised over $9,500 toward its $22,000 goal.
Verification and Public Attention
Reached by text message on Friday, Phillips confirmed he created the drive but did not immediately respond to further comment. A GoFundMe spokesperson said the platform had verified the campaign. Phillips first gained global attention in late February after challenging anyone to prove they had a smaller penis, coinciding with the US and Israel launching war in Iran. He told TMZ that his goal was to advocate against body shaming for those with micropenis, a rare condition defined by the Cleveland Clinic as a stretched penile length of less than 2.67 inches (6.8 cm). He also aimed to raise awareness about the difficulties of having a sexual organ the size of a pinky fingernail when aroused.
Impact on Daily Life and Relationships
Beyond urinary issues, Phillips said his condition has made penetrative sex impossible, erasing his willingness to approach new people, especially women, in dating. Some online skeptics have questioned his story, but he has provided photographic evidence, including to unwilling recipients. In a viral video, a woman accused Phillips of sending her an unsolicited picture of his penis after she taunted him about his micropenis. Phillips confirmed to TMZ that the video was accurate, saying he only wanted to show her not to make fun of people. He admitted to sending such pictures while drinking, calling it "stupid," and apologized to any woman he may have offended.
