Katie Price's New Pomsky Puppy Sparks Animal Welfare Concerns
Katie Price's Pomsky Puppy Raises Welfare Questions

Katie Price and Lee Andrews have acquired a new puppy, believed to be a Pomsky (Pomeranian-Husky cross), prompting immediate concern from animal welfare experts. The couple's history of pet fatalities and current lifestyle—including frequent international travel, legal issues, and periods of separation—raise serious questions about the dog's welfare.

Breed Mismatch and Exercise Needs

Certified dog trainers note that Huskies and their crosses require extensive exercise and mental stimulation. An adult Husky typically needs at least two hours of daily exercise, plus enrichment, according to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. The breed is known for being independent, vocal, and prone to destructive behavior when bored. Crossing a Husky with a Pomeranian does not eliminate these demanding traits.

Animal shelters frequently see surrendered Huskies because owners underestimate their needs. The puppy's resemblance to a purebred Husky suggests it may inherit the breed's high energy and escape-artist tendencies.

PETA and Battersea Respond

PETA UK Senior Vice President Mimi Bekhechi said: 'Is there no low to which Katie Price will not stoop? While one of her cats, Doris, is reportedly still missing, instead of being worried sick and out searching for her, as any caring, responsible guardian would, she has flown to another country and acquired a new dog, as easily as one replaces a pair of socks.'

Bekhechi added: 'A Pomsky of all animals, in the Dubai heat, to add insult to injury. How many animals have been lost, discarded, or have died under her so-called “care” before authorities ban her from keeping animals? Peta’s £5,000 offer for her to stop collecting animals still stands, and we implore her to take us up on it – for the sake of Doris, this puppy, and any other animals unfortunate enough to cross her path.'

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home stated: 'We frequently see Huskies given up to Battersea. This is because people often underestimate the complexities of the breed and whether they’re compatible with their lives.'

Climate and Lifestyle Concerns

Huskies evolved for cold climates, making Dubai's extreme heat a welfare risk. UAE animal welfare laws require owners to protect Huskies from high temperatures and advise against keeping them in apartments due to noise and space needs. Katie and Lee's lifestyle involves frequent travel, legal troubles, and absences—Lee has been imprisoned in Dubai multiple times, and Katie shuttles between Dubai and the UK.

Recently, Lee's ex-wife Dina Taji claimed on Instagram that the dog was dumped at a pet sitter and she rescued it. She said: 'I need to save this dog now this person is in jail. We need to make sure that these are reliable people that are not going to neglect, abuse, or abandon the pet.'

History of Animal Deaths

Katie Price has a documented history of pets dying in her care, including: a horse killed on the A24 (2017); dog Queenie hit by a car (2018); chameleon Marvin claimed to have died from a broken heart (2018); Alsatian Sparkle hit by a car (2020); puppy Rolo suffocated in a chair mechanism (2020); Pomeranian Sharon hit by a car (2022); dog Blade run over (2023); and a premature kitten that did not survive (2025). Currently, one of her cats, Doris, remains missing.

Animal welfare organizations have repeatedly criticized Price, and no reputable adoption agency would approve her to rehome an animal. The puppy's fate remains uncertain as concerns mount over its care in an unstable environment.
