Doctor Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) has made a shock return to Emmerdale, and she appears to be in grave danger after Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) threatened her at the hospital. The evil doctor left the village two weeks ago for a new job in Sheffield after being questioned by DS Reid (Angela Lonsdale) over Charity Dingle’s (Emma Atkins) rape allegation. Caitlin claimed the sex was consensual, and due to lack of evidence, she was released. She then bid farewell to Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) and Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick), leaving Charity devastated.
Charity reveals rape to Mackenzie
Days ago, Charity told partner Mackenzie about the rape and that Dr Todd had been blackmailing her over baby Leyla. Mackenzie has struggled to process the news, hiding his turmoil from Ross Barton (Michael Parr) and Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill). In today's episode, set during Leyla's christening, Charity urged Mack to attend, saying baby Leyla shouldn't suffer for their problems. At the ceremony, Mack found it hard to keep up appearances.
Kev advises revenge
In the pub toilets, Mack encountered Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill), who was stealing water for his bakery van. Sensing something wrong, Kev took Mack back to the Anderson household. Over tea and cake, Mack admitted his wife had cheated but withheld details. Kev told Mack he has every right to hurt the person who harmed his family, advising him to be 'quiet' and 'clever' about it, warning that the need for revenge will only grow if ignored.
Mackenzie confronts Dr Todd
At the episode's end, Mackenzie arrived at the hospital where Dr Todd now works. Caitlin asked if everything was alright. Mack replied, 'I have a problem, and it isn’t going away.' With an Emmerdale resident set to be attacked soon, these words suggest Mack may be planning quiet revenge against Dr Todd, potentially making her the victim.
