Half-Christmas Celebrations Trigger Blackmail Plot
EastEnders aired a festive twist in June as Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) hosted half-Christmas at No. 1, decorating the house on June 25. The tradition, established last year, comes amid major changes for the Mitchell clan: Teddy (Roland Manookian) is in prison, Barney (Lewis Bridgeman) discovered Teddy is not his biological father, and Nicola is romancing George Knight (Colin Salmon).
Suki and Eve Face Adoption Threat
While the Knights and Mitchells celebrated, Suki and Eve Panesar-Unwin (Balvinder Sopal and Heather Peace) were terrified that Nicola would destroy their adoption dream. Earlier in the week, Eve hit Nicola after the bar owner criticised Suki's parenting. Nicola retaliated by revealing the assault was captured on CCTV and blackmailed Suki for £50,000.
The blackmail came just one day after Suki and Eve were approved by an adoption panel. Desperate to protect their dream, Suki agreed to pay.
Harry Confronts Nicola
Harry (Elijah Hollway) discovered Nicola's scheme and berated her, reminding her that after bringing Eddie Knight back into George's life, she should find better ways to raise money. Nicola reconsidered and returned to Suki and Eve, telling them she didn't want their money. However, she refused to delete the CCTV footage, keeping it as leverage.
Suki and Eve now face an uncertain future, trapped in Nicola's web. Will Nicola ever erase the footage, or will she use it again?
