Londoners dreaming of basking in summer sunshine may need to pack away their shorts a little longer, according to a leading weather expert who has delivered some heartbreaking news for the capital.
Jim Dale, senior meteorologist at British Weather Services, has revealed that consistent summer heat remains elusive for London, with the city facing more unsettled conditions in the coming weeks.
The Unwelcome Forecast
"It's heartbreaking in the sense that we're now getting to the middle of July and we're still talking about when summer is going to arrive," Mr Dale confessed. The expert explained that while London might experience occasional warm days, these will be isolated incidents rather than the sustained heat residents are craving.
The meteorological specialist painted a disappointing picture for the immediate future, suggesting that true summer conditions won't properly establish themselves until we approach August.
Glimmers of Hope
There is some consolation for sun-starved Londoners. Mr Dale indicated that the capital should experience "odd days here and there" of warmer weather, providing temporary relief from the predominantly grey and damp conditions.
