London is bracing for another heatwave, with temperatures set to hit the high 20s for six consecutive days starting Wednesday, July 29. According to BBC Weather, the capital will see temperatures of at least 28°C from July 29 to August 3, meeting the criteria for a heatwave, which requires three or more days above the local threshold of 28°C.

On Wednesday, July 29, temperatures will reach 28°C with sunny intervals and a gentle breeze. Thursday will be slightly warmer at 29°C, followed by another 28°C day on Friday with sunny spells and light rain showers. The weekend continues with 28°C on Saturday and Sunday, though Sunday may see some drizzle. Monday, August 3, will again reach 29°C with light cloud and a breeze.
Comparison to Previous Heatwaves
Unlike the previous heatwaves that saw temperatures soar into the high 30s and triggered extreme weather warnings, this heatwave is expected to be milder. The Met Office noted that high pressure could return towards August, bringing dry conditions, especially in the south, with temperatures near or above normal and possibly very warm again by the start of August.
Residents who missed out on buying fans or air conditioning units during the last heatwave are advised to purchase them now to stay cool during the upcoming warm spell.
