George Fouracres, star of Saturday Night Live UK, has admitted that being tipped to play the next Doctor in Doctor Who is 'hard to talk about' because it would be his 'biggest dream ever come true'. The 35-year-old actor and comedian, known for his surreal sketches on the hit Sky show, spoke ahead of Season 2, which premieres on September 12 with Jeff Goldblum as the first guest host.

Fouracres, who hails from Wolverhampton and has a background in Shakespearean theatre at the Globe, has been the subject of fan speculation after TV personality Richard Osman tipped him as a potential future Time Lord. The actor, who plays a fictionalised Keir Starmer in the show's sketches, told Metro that the idea of fellow Doctor Who fans suggesting him for the role is 'so massive' and 'so lovely'.
'It's hard to talk about because… like, obviously that would be my biggest dream ever come true, ever. That would be obviously the thing I would probably most like to do in the universe,' he said, getting emotional. 'Even the fact that people have brought it up is so flattering and so gorgeous to me as a fan of Doctor Who, a proper fan. The idea of fellow fans saying that about me is so massive to me and so lovely – I really appreciate it.'
Fouracres revealed that he first heard about the speculation from his mother, who brought him a cup of tea in the morning and asked, 'have you heard this about Doctor Who?' He admitted that he tries not to pay attention to such rumours but was touched by the reaction.

Nash, 32, who built a large online following with his viral sketches, said the cast are 'practicing more Zen' for Season 2, having learned from the first season's eight episodes. 'It's easy to get swept up in it because the hours are long, but I repeatedly say we're not going down the mines,' he said. 'We've all worked harder at actual real-world jobs than this. It's hard but it's worth it and stress is all part of it and having some time away from it has been helpful to see the reaction.'
Dean, 36, whose highlight last season was impersonating Louis Theroux alongside the man himself, said the lack of sleep is the hardest part, comparing it to having a newborn baby. He added that attending afterparties is a 'camaraderie thing' and a way to be polite to the guest hosts, who have included Tina Fey and Jamie Dornan.

The new season of SNL UK begins on September 12 on Sky and NOW, with the first six episodes airing before additional shows in early 2027. Confirmed guest hosts include Jeff Goldblum (September 12), Jamie Demetriou (September 19), and Amelia Dimoldenberg (September 26). New cast member Freddie Meredith joins the lineup after earning a Best Newcomer Award nomination at the Edinburgh Fringe for his show Need a Light.
