Jackass director nearly cut 'disgusting' laxative Twister scene

Jeff Tremaine, the longtime director and co-creator of the Jackass franchise, has revealed that the most disgusting scene in the final film, Jackass: Best and Last, almost didn't make the cut. The scene, which involves laxatives, clear underwear, and a game of Twister, left audiences at early screenings gasping and gagging due to its graphic close-up shots.

A scene too foul for the editing room

Speaking to Metro on the red carpet at London's BFI IMAX, Tremaine admitted he came up with the stunt but initially left it on the editing floor. 'It's foul,' he said. 'I did come up with that one, and I'm not proud of it. We weren't even editing it because it was so disgusting and I felt that we already had enough gross stuff already in the film. I just left it on the editing floor until I was reminded about it.'

He added: 'But I just didn't want to get rid of it. There was a certain Paramount executive that insisted that we put that in the movie.'

Johnny Knoxville calls it quits for good

The fifth and final instalment of the Jackass film series, Jackass: Best and Last, is now in cinemas, featuring the usual antics from Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, and the rest of the crew. The film is a celebration of friendship, but also marks the end of an era. Knoxville, 55, has confirmed that this is truly his last outing. 'I've said before that we're finished but this is really it,' he told Metro. 'It feels like a good place to end. We wanted to go out on our own terms, and it feels like we have with this film.'

A history of dangerous stunts

The Jackass franchise has seen its share of life-threatening stunts over two decades. Knoxville has come close to death multiple times, including being launched by a bull in Jackass: Forever, which caused a brain haemorrhage, broken rib, broken wrist, and concussion. He was also knocked out by boxer Eric 'Butterbean' Esch in the final film, leading to a severe concussion and vertigo. Other notable injuries include a urethral tear from a dirt bike crash, third-degree burns suffered by Steve-O, and a facial fracture from a Lamborghini tooth pull stunt involving Ehren McGhehey.

New obsession: The Traitors

Now that he's retiring from death-defying stunts, Knoxville has found a new passion: the TV show The Traitors. He revealed that he and his wife Emily Ting have binged every series, including international versions. 'Oh my god, I just love that show. We've watched at least 12 different countries,' he said. 'I've got through all the UK ones. It's fantastic.' When asked if he would ever appear on the show, Knoxville joked: 'What I would love to do is get all the Jackass cast in and do a Jackass/Traitors spin-off. Because what you need to be a good Traitor… none of us possess.'
