Emmerdale Spoilers: Dingle Tragedy, Nicola's Fears, Charity's Courage

Next week in Emmerdale, the Dingles are torn apart by more tragedy as Cain Dingle's fight for his beloved dog Monty reaches its heartbreaking end. Meanwhile, Nicola King fears her marriage has gone stale and suspects husband Jimmy of cheating, while Charity Dingle musters the courage to return to her support group after her rape by Dr. Caitlin Todd.

Cain's Heartbreaking Goodbye to Monty

Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) has fought admirably for Monty the dog, but next week it becomes clear the battle is nearly over. With his life so entwined with the pet, Cain struggles to say goodbye. On Monday, August 3, Moira Dingle is called away to visit an injured Nana Barton, leaving Cain to float the idea of adopting Kyle Winchester (Huey Quinn) to him. Kyle, taken aback, seeks advice from Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton). Returning home with an answer, the moment is broken when Sam Dingle (James Hooton) interrupts with news that something is very wrong with Monty.

After Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) examines Monty, she tells the family that his tumour may have spread and suggests they consider next steps carefully. On Tuesday, August 4, Cain is heartbroken to find Monty sleeping on Zak Dingle's grave, finally convincing him it's time to say goodbye. He explains to the children what is to come. On Wednesday, August 5, Cain and his sons arrive at the vets with Monty. At Isaac Dingle's suggestion, Cain agrees that Monty should be seen off like a proper Dingle. On Thursday, August 6, Cain delivers a eulogy for Monty in an event that unites the Dingles.

Nicola's Fears Over Jimmy's Affection

Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) worries her marriage to Jimmy (Nick Miles) has grown stale. When he makes a move to spice things up, she panics that he's been diverting his affection elsewhere. On Monday, August 3, Nicola's excitement is shattered when she learns what Jimmy has planned. On Tuesday, August 4, Nicola is irked when Jimmy arrives at the café with his golf clubs and gives them a spiteful shove. When a jewellery box tumbles out, she becomes even angrier, convinced Jimmy is buying jewellery for someone else and having an affair.

Charity's Brave Return to Support Group

Still suffering the effects of Dr. Caitlin Todd's sickening rape, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) is hit with an unwelcome surprise this week. On Wednesday, August 5, Charity's bravery shines through amid her current battles. On Thursday, August 6, Charity summons all her courage and returns to the support group. She manages to open up, highlighting what she sees as the differences between her own experience and the other members. The group facilitator attempts to make Charity see that the guilt and shame she carries belong to Todd, leaving her deep in thought.

Other Village Drama

Elsewhere, Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) has huge news while Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) makes an unwelcome discovery. On Tuesday, August 4, Gabby discovers that Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) kissed Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley), while Charity's reaction to his plans to move means Noah decides to stay in the village for his mum's sake.
