Corrie: Todd's Revenge Plot Targets Glenda's Romance

Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) is back on Coronation Street, and his dark side is once again in full force, targeting his close friend Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) in a nasty revenge plot that threatens her chance at romance.

Last year, Todd endured a campaign of physical and emotional abuse at the hands of his violent partner Theo Silverton (James Cartwright), which unlocked a vulnerable side to the Weatherfield bad boy. Todd stayed with Theo out of misguided hope and pure fear, but after being beaten so badly that it resulted in a trip to A&E, he found the strength to leave and report the abuse to the police. Theo later broke into Todd's flat and chased him onto the Street in a deadly nighttime showdown, where he fell to his death on the Cobbles thanks to a mysterious attacker—who turned out to be Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien), not Todd.

Todd's Return and Glenda's New Romance

Now, Todd's return from visiting his mum Eileen (Sue Cleaver) in Thailand is set to put the cat among the pigeons. While he has unfinished business with Sarah, he runs afoul of someone else: Glenda Shuttleworth. In the Rovers, Glenda takes a shine to a newcomer named Fraser and invites him for a drink. After planning a Dolly Parton-themed funeral service for another newcomer, Celeste (Frances Barber), who reveals she has only six weeks to live, Fraser collects Celeste, leaving Glenda thrilled when he gives her his number and agrees to a date tomorrow.

However, Todd, who has been hitting the bottle hard since his trip to Thailand, is livid when Glenda calls him out on it. When he finds out that Fraser is gay, he takes matters into his own hands and reverts to fiendish scheming type, sabotaging Glenda's chance for romance.

Fiendish Scheming Returns

In next week's trip to the Cobbles, Todd learns from Celeste that Fraser is gay, and he uses this information to his advantage. The old Todd Grimshaw is back, and none of his loved ones are safe. His most ruthlessly calculated plot last year was driven by his obsession with winning back his ex, Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank), by sabotaging his relationship in an evil scheme. Other greatest hits include cheating on his pregnant teenage sweetheart Sarah Platt with nurse Karl and gaslighting her about it to avoid coming out, ghosting his near-enough daughter Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) by faking his death, and destroying his brother Jason's (Ryan Thomas) happiness with Eva Price (Katherine Tyldesley).

Impact on Glenda and the Street

Glenda, who is the sister of the closest thing Todd has left to a dad, George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), is set to be hurt by Todd's selfish behaviour. The fallout is likely to affect Todd's relationships with George and others on the street. Meanwhile, Sarah remains in prison, lumbered with nightmare new inmate Kacey (Emma Matthews), who wants Sarah to use her relationship with copper Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) to help her son dodge an armed robbery charge—or else.

Todd's revenge plot is set to unfold in upcoming episodes, promising drama and tension as the Weatherfield bad boy once again proves he is the ultimate puppet master on the street.
