Next week on Coronation Street, a mysterious relative of Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) arrives in Weatherfield, but her stay is destined to be short-lived. Celeste (Frances Barber) appears at Bernie's door, only to find that Bernie and Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) are away. Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) spots Celeste and informs her of their absence, but before Celeste can leave, she notices Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) closing up the undertakers and asks to arrange a funeral with him over a drink.
A Shocking Revelation
The following day, Celeste's driver, Fraser, drops her at Shuttleworth's to discuss funeral arrangements while he heads to the Rovers. Glenda is immediately drawn to the stranger and invites him for a drink. Meanwhile, Celeste reveals to Todd that she is planning her own funeral, as she has only six weeks to live. Together, they organize a Dolly Parton-themed service, a fitting tribute to a life that will soon end.
Glenda's New Romance
As Fraser and Celeste prepare to leave, Glenda is thrilled when Fraser gives her his number, and they agree to a date the following day. However, things take an upsetting turn for Glenda after a night out on Canal Street with Todd. Concerned about his heavy drinking since returning from Thailand, Glenda warns him to stop treating his friends like dirt or risk losing them. Todd does not take this well, and when Celeste later reveals that Fraser is gay, he devises a plan to get his own back on Glenda.
