Thai teen's family speaks after Australian charged with murder

The family of a 17-year-old Thai girl have spoken of their fear and grief after an Australian man was charged with her murder. Tunchanok Donhomla's body was found in a suitcase, and police have laid three charges against Simon Peter Carman, 46, including murder, concealing a corpse, and abduction of a minor for indecent purposes.

Father's Heartbreaking Words

Her father, Thongchai Donhomla, told Reuters that his daughter grew up without a mother. 'Whenever she wanted anything, she would find a way herself, and she always helped me too,' he said, describing her independence and kindness.

Charges and Investigation

Police confirmed the charges against Carman, who is accused of killing the teenager and hiding her body. The case has drawn attention to the safety of young people in Thailand and the vulnerability of those without parental support.
