Time Out has released its list of London's best rooftop bars for 2026, and a new number one has been crowned. The Queen Elizabeth Hall Roof Garden, located on the South Bank, has taken the top spot, offering stunning views of the River Thames and a lush, green oasis in the heart of the city.
Queen Elizabeth Hall Roof Garden: London's Best Rooftop Bar
This brutalist rooftop beauty features a lovely lawn and over 200 different kinds of plants, flowers, and fruit trees. The bar itself is set in an old shipping container, serving wine, botany-inspired cocktails, craft beers, and snacks. First launched in 2011, the roof garden was a joint project between The Eden Project and Grounded Ecotherapy, which helps people experiencing homelessness and addiction recovery through gardening. The venue reopens for spring/summer 2026 on April 1.
Second Place: Frank's Cafe in Peckham
In second place is Frank's Cafe in Peckham, a stalwart of London's rooftop scene. Perched on top of a multi-storey car park, it offers stunning views, interesting art installations, and a casual energy. Its infamous pink staircase is a highlight. Frank's Cafe reopens for 2026 on May 15.
Third Place: Forza Wine at The National Theatre
Coming in third is Forza Wine at The National Theatre, not far from the Queen Elizabeth Hall Roof Garden. This all-year-round rooftop bar features a balcony perfect for sipping pét-nat in warm weather. The Forza Taps wine-bar pop-up on the terrace is expected to return for summer 2026.
