London’s Best Terrace: A Stunning Riverside Spot You Must Visit This Summer
London’s Best Terrace: Riverside Spot You Must Visit

London’s best terrace is a stunning riverside spot we can no longer keep secret. As spring fully settles in, many of us are already planning for summer, trying to secure the best outdoor terraces to enjoy the sunshine. But finding the perfect place for a refreshing drink is not always easy, especially when everyone else has the same idea. That is why we are sharing one of our favorite al fresco dining and drinking destinations.

Where Is London’s Best Summer Terrace?

The terrace in question is located at Scott’s in Richmond, a picturesque riverside venue overlooking the Thames. While it is not on the rooftop, the height offers ideal uninterrupted views of the water and the open sky. Timing your visit for sunset makes the experience even more magical, as the sky transforms into a vibrant canvas of orange and pink. For those who love photography, this spot provides the perfect golden hour glow.

The Vibe

For Spring 2026, Scott’s Richmond has partnered with Silent Pool Gin to turn the terrace into a botanical garden. Realistic wisteria, cascading leafy vines, and lemons adorn the ceilings and windows, adding pops of color that make you feel transported to Italy. Cozy blankets and heated areas ensure comfort even when temperatures drop after sunset.

What’s on the Menu?

The limited-edition spring drinks menu features several cocktails crafted with Silent Pool Gin, starting at £13. A standout is the Silent Bloom Spritz (£15), combining Silent Pool Gin, Silent Pool Rose Expression, tawny port, lemon juice, orange bitters, and Fever-Tree orange and raspberry soda. It is a refreshing, elegant, fruity, and slightly bitter alternative to the classic Aperol spritz. Fans of Royal Ascot can enjoy the Royal Ascot Blush (£15), made with Silent Pool Gin, raspberry, lemon, and Fever-Tree lemonade, finished with an Ascot Silent Pool Gin Raspberry and Mint Aroma Garnish. This sweet and smooth drink tastes less boozy and more fruity. For other preferences, the bar offers signature drinks like French 75, White Negroni, Cosmo, Margarita, or Martini, as well as mocktails. The terrace also serves food, sharing the same menu as Scott’s Mayfair location, recently named one of London’s most iconic restaurants. The à la carte menu specializes in seafood, including sushi, dressed crab, sautéed monkfish cheeks, seared scallops, and lobster. Meat options include sirloin steak, Iberico pork chops, and roasted Devonshire chicken breast. Desserts like warm lemon madeleines are a must-try.

While You’re in Richmond

After enjoying Scott’s, head to Richmond Park and explore the Isabella Plantation, a hidden woodland garden established in the 1830s. It features extensive collections of Azaleas, Rhododendron, Magnolia, and Camellia, along with ponds and unusual plants. The Azaleas bloom in shades of pink, purple, and red from late April into May. Metro’s senior lifestyle reporter, Courtney Pochin, visited last spring and described it as breathtaking. She noted that while the garden is popular and can get busy, visiting on a weekday helps avoid crowds.
