Emmerdale: Dawn’s Revenge on Joe Tate Begins

Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) has put the first part of her revenge plan into place in Emmerdale, and finds it somewhat humorous that Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) has no idea what she is up to.

Dawn now knows that Joe has spent most of this year lying to her. The wool started to get removed from her eyes when she found the video footage Joe took of Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) trying to cover up John Sugden’s (Oliver Farnworth) murder. Joe lied to Dawn and bought himself a bit of time, but it was very much the start of things unravelling for him.

When Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) was released from prison, Dawn quickly learnt that Joe played a part in having her framed. She also discovered from Moira that Joe had Holly Barton’s memorial tree cut down. When it happened, Dawn asked Joe if he was responsible but he said no. She warned him that if she discovered he got the tree destroyed, they would not be able to be together.

Now aware of his constant lies, Dawn has decided to get revenge. After updating Moira and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), Dawn wondered what exactly she should do in her plan to destroy her partner. Cain unsurprisingly said they should kill Joe, but Moira came up with a better idea. She pointed out that taking everything from Joe and leaving him with absolutely nothing would be a far better option than having him killed.

Dawn, who is now pregnant, found the idea of seeing Joe in the gutter very pleasing. Since this conversation, Dawn has been delivering quite the performance at Home Farm, letting Joe believe that nothing is wrong. She almost slipped up a few days ago when her disgust towards Joe was a little too close to the surface, but she covered by saying it was morning sickness.

Constantly hearing Joe speak about how much he hates the Dingles left Dawn on edge in today’s episode. Recognising that she was feeling in over her head, Dawn headed to see Moira to rant about her partner. Moira told Dawn that she needs to let her help as well. She agreed and very quickly, a new plot got underway.

At Home Farm, Joe walked in on Dawn arguing with Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) over Take a Vow. When Belle stepped out to take a phone call, Dawn expressed her annoyance towards her business partner, and made a comment about how she wishes she could buy the business so she does not have to deal with Belle. Joe told Dawn that he could buy Take a Vow for her. She was stunned by the suggestion but also did not outright say no.

At Wishing Well, Dawn arrived and updated Belle and Moira. With a smile on her face, Dawn confirmed that Joe’s money to apparently buy Take a Vow will be in her bank account tomorrow. The trio could not help but laugh at how easy it was to gain access to so much of Joe’s cash. It looks like the beginning of the end for Joe Tate, and if Dawn’s moves today are anything to go by, she is going to massively succeed in her revenge. What will the next part of the plan be?
