81-Year-Old Minecraft Grandma Says Swatting Incident Was 'Kinda Fun'
81-Year-Old Minecraft Grandma: Swatting Was 'Kinda Fun'

An 81-year-old grandmother and Minecraft streamer, Sue Jacquot, has become the latest victim of a swatting incident, but she remains unfazed, describing the ordeal as 'kinda fun.' The incident occurred while Jacquot was asleep in her Arizona home, with her Minecraft livestream still running. Viewers witnessed armed police entering her residence, carrying torches, as her home was surrounded by 20 police cars, five SWAT vehicles, and multiple drones.

Who Is Sue Jacquot?

Jacquot gained viral fame earlier this year for her Minecraft YouTube videos, which she used to raise funds for her grandson's cancer treatment. Although her grandson is now cancer-free, Jacquot continues to stream regularly, branching out into other games like Fortnite, to help cover medical expenses. She is currently running a non-stop livestream that will not end until she completes Minecraft; as of now, she has been live for over 16 days.

The Swatting Incident

Swatting involves falsely reporting a serious crime to dispatch armed police to a victim's home. While many streamers and celebrities have suffered emotional distress or even injury from such incidents, Jacquot took it in stride. In a follow-up video, she recounted the event: 'I was asleep, I did not want to get up, and these policemen came in the door. I didn't know what was going on, but it was kinda fun. I got to ride in a police car. I've never ridden in a police car before. Then it was all over, so I thought, Well, I've gotta go to bed, so I took an ibuprofen and went to bed.'

Jacquot even complimented one of the policewomen, calling her beautiful. The stream continued unaffected, with Jacquot away but allowing viewers to control the game in her absence.

Community Reaction

Commenters expressed relief that Jacquot was unharmed and called for the perpetrator to be caught. One user, hxrmy, wrote, 'This genuinely angers me to my core. People are actually evil.' Another, crimson9273, stated, 'This is not okay, there needs to be consequences.' bobjoe3492 added, 'I hope they find whoever did this. Law Enforcement tend to take swatting very seriously.'

Ongoing Fundraiser

Jacquot's GoFundMe for her grandson's medical bills has raised over $105,890 (about £78,903) of its $250,000 (about £186,275) goal. Despite the swatting, her Minecraft marathon continues, demonstrating her resilience and dedication.
