Sistine Chapel Immersive Exhibition Coming to London This Summer
Sistine Chapel Immersive Exhibition to Hit London

An immersive full-scale Sistine Chapel exhibition is coming to London this summer, offering art enthusiasts a chance to experience Michelangelo's iconic frescoes without traveling to Rome. The exhibition, titled Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition, will feature high-definition projections of the 34 frescoes that adorn the chapel's ceiling, collectively depicting the story of Genesis. Additionally, visitors can view a dedicated area for Michelangelo's wall fresco 'The Last Judgement' and replicas of his renowned sculptures 'David', 'Moses', and 'Pietà'.

Exhibition Details

The exhibition will take place at 1 America Square, near Tower Bridge, from May 18 to September 6. Tickets are priced at £19.50 for peak times and £17.50 for off-peak, comparable to the €20 admission fee for the actual Sistine Chapel in Vatican City. Organizers promise a high-quality experience, aiming to bring the majesty of Michelangelo's art to a wider audience.

What to Expect

Unlike some lower-quality immersive art shows, this exhibition is described as an earnest attempt to recreate the experience of viewing Michelangelo's masterpieces. The projections are massive in scale and highly detailed, allowing visitors to appreciate the intricate details of the frescoes up close. The inclusion of replicas of Michelangelo's famous sculptures adds further value to the experience.
