The Design Museum is set to host a major new animation exhibition from the makers of Coraline and Kubo and the Two Strings. Opening on October 15, 'Laika presents Wildwood: The Exhibition' will offer an access-all-areas pass to the epic world of the Portland stop-motion animators' new movie Wildwood. Fans of previous museum showcases dedicated to Tim Burton or Wes Anderson should find plenty to admire in this making-of story told with props, costumes, models, puppets and miniature sets.
Inside the exhibition
The exhibition will guide visitors through the painstaking process of creating a stop-motion movie on the scale of Wildwood, with audiovisual content and interactive installations revealing the work of visual development artists, model makers, scenic painters and more. Featuring the voices of Jacob Tremblay, Carey Mulligan and Mahershala Ali, Wildwood follows a young girl who ventures into a mysterious forest when her baby brother is kidnapped by crows. It is the stop-motion animation house's biggest movie yet.
Two decades of Laika history
The exhibition also includes a free-to-visit area in the museum's mezzanine that will share Laika's back story across two decades of filmmaking, covering Coraline, The Boxtrolls, ParaNorman, Kubo and the Two Strings and The Missing Link.

Dates and premiere
Laika presents Wildwood: The Exhibition runs from October 15 to January 10, 2027. Tickets can be booked via the Design Museum website. Wildwood gets its world premiere at the BFI London Film Festival on October 11, before heading to cinemas in the UK and Ireland on October 23.
