Queen Camilla, wife of King Charles III, has a surprising family connection to two iconic pop stars: Madonna and Celine Dion. According to genealogical research, the British royal is a distant cousin of both singers, sharing a 17th-century French-Canadian ancestor.
The Reddit Revelation
The discovery gained attention after a Reddit user posted: "Today I learned that Madonna and Celine Dion are distant cousins of Camilla Parker Bowles (Queen Camilla, wife of King Charles)." The post sparked lively debate, with one user commenting: "Hmm. Interesting how a lot of celebrities are related to royalty somewhere in their bloodline." Another joked: "So that's where Madonna's spontaneous late-onset British accent came from." A sceptical user added: "According to DNA, we're all distant cousins of each other."
Genealogical Evidence
Woman and Home magazine previously reported that Queen Camilla shares a genetic link with Madonna and Celine Dion. The magazine stated: "Interestingly, there are two famous pop stars that genealogical research has linked Queen Camilla to. Both Madonna and Celine Dion are descendants of the same French Canadian couple who lived in the 17th century. Camilla and the singers are also connected to actress Angelina Jolie too."
The connection was reportedly uncovered through Canadian historical records on Ancestry.co.uk. Despite the link, it is unlikely the cousins will be invited to Buckingham Palace for dinner anytime soon.
