Survey: A Third of Brits Find Takeaway More Satisfying Than a Date
Survey: Brits Prefer Takeaway Over Dating, Pizza Hut Reveals

Survey Reveals Brits' Preference for Takeaway Over Dating

A recent study has uncovered that a significant portion of British adults find more satisfaction in a takeaway meal than in a romantic date. According to a poll of 2,000 individuals, nearly one in five Brits, or 18%, reported that their romantic lives often fall short of expectations. More strikingly, over a third, specifically 34%, stated that ordering a takeaway provides greater satisfaction compared to going on a date.

Takeaway Trends and Pizza Popularity

The survey further highlighted that almost half of all Brits, 45%, would opt for a weekday takeaway at home rather than spending time on a date or with friends. Among those currently dating, 34% admitted they are more likely to be active on a takeaway app than on a dating platform. Pizza emerged as the favorite choice, with more than half of respondents, 51%, selecting it as one of their preferred takeaway options.

Pizza Hut's Playful Campaign Launch

This tongue-in-cheek research was commissioned by Pizza Hut, coinciding with the launch of their new loyalty program, Hut Rewards. The campaign, titled "I Do" to Free Pizza, was introduced on April 1st, a day known for pranks, but the company insists it is a genuine offer. The campaign features the Chief Legal Officer as its spokesperson, adding a humorous twist to the promotion.

The initiative encourages customers to commit to Pizza Hut's refreshed loyalty scheme, which promises consistent rewards without disappointment. To participate, users must download the Pizza Hut UK app or visit the website and sign up before April 19th. New and existing customers who register by this date will receive a free small pizza as an introductory treat, subject to terms and conditions.

Rewards Structure and Customer Expectations

Under the Hut Rewards program, every order earns stamps, with specific milestones offering treats such as free garlic bread, medium and large pizzas, and even an XXL Big New Yorker Pizza. This deal appears particularly appealing given the survey results, which show that nearly two-thirds of pizza lovers, 64%, feel their favorite takeaway pizza meets their expectations most of the time.

Jana Ulaite, Chief Marketing Officer of Pizza Hut UK, commented, "At Pizza Hut, we aimed to create a loyalty program that delivers consistently and celebrates every occasion. It's the kind of commitment people have been seeking—no heartbreak, no ghosting, just great pizza and reliable rewards. We urge everyone to join Hut Rewards for a program that truly appreciates its customers."

Note: The offer includes a minimum spend requirement and other terms and conditions, details of which are available on the Pizza Hut website. This article is based on content distributed by GlobeNewswire and produced by SWNS Media Group.
